POSITION SUMMARY
Omni Executive is seeking a qualified engineer to fulfil the role of Chief of the Independent System Monitoring (CISM) in support of our client within the Department of Defence. The CISM is responsible to the Director of Engineering for the independent continuing evaluation and system monitoring of our clients Engineering Management System (EMS), and ensuring the EMS remains contemporary and effective. The right person will be a degree qualified engineer, who has demonstrable experience using an Engineering Management System to generate Robust and Evidence Based engineering decisions and is interested in applying that experience to critically and iteratively review the recently executed functions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Monitor organisations to ensure compliance with the EMS.
2. Develop, conduct, and manage a suite of assurance, monitoring and analysis activities, at the process and system level, to ensure engineering activities are effective and compliant, and performed by competent and authorised staff.
3. Provide assurance that released products contain appropriate and compliant technical content.
4. Analysis and systematic reporting on metrics relating to the health of EMS, including non-conformities, performance, resourcing, etc.
5. Lead and drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement, including development and coaching of engineering team members.
6. Manage relationships with key stakeholders to manage resources appropriately and ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

Essential Qualifications
1. Bachelor of Engineering degree
2. At least 8 years' experience in a DASR 21J organisation (or equivalent), working in aircraft design and certification teams;
3. At least 3 years' experience in quality management in an aviation environment;
4. Diploma in Quality Auditing (delivered by an Australian registered training organisation or other comparable overseas qualification acceptable to the NMAA; and
5. Be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence baseline security clearance, upgradable to NV1 if required.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Demonstrated knowledge and application of DASR and ISO 9001;
2. Hands-on mentality with the ability to proactively and independently resolve issues.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively engage, communicate with and influence Senior and Executive level stakeholders.
