Your Opportunity

We are looking for an Aircraft Technician experienced and qualified across multiple areas, including Mechanical (B1), Avionics (B2) & Structural Engineering to join our experienced RAAF Base Team in Williamtown. 

Your Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • Caring out inspection and maintenance on scheduled and unscheduled aircraft 
  • Ensuring that all: 
    • maintenance is correctly and appropriately documented and certified
    • maintenance entries and certifications for work undertaken is completed and certified 
    • data, release notes and certificates are accompanied with the respective work sheet/work package
    • compliance with all Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins are relevant to the aircraft
  • Support ADF operations through deployment
  • Support as required the day, evening and Flight Line maintenance crews to maximise aircraft safety and availability
  • Undertake Certification for release to Service (CRS) functions
  • Direct to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor, items that are beyond the scope of a B Technician's authority
  • Assist with defect analysis and investigations and complete ‘defect reports’ as required
  • Work with minimal supervision and direct A-Level technicians and ground handlers as required
  • Work with Crew Leaders to ensure OH & S/WHS requirements are adhered to
  • Ensure Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is serviceable and report any defects or deficiencies
  • Carry out: 
    •  aircraft washing and associated corrosion control inspection
    •  aircraft towing, repositioning and refuelling
    •  flight line activities including flight servicing’s, replenishments and marshalling
  • Participate in the Quality and Aviation Safety Management responsibilities and systems with the inclusion of audits and investigations where required. 
  • Positively represent Jet Aviation as one company with internal and external stakeholders.

What will help you to succeed?

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aviation regulatory requirements for Aircraft Maintenance, both civil and military (Part 145)
  • Be able to obtain a DASA Part 66 License 
  • Excellent communications, customer service and people skills 
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, as well as part of a wider team 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules (inclusive of deployments with aircrafts as required)
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job
