Job Overview:

The Pemberton Sports Club (PSC) is a community run facility servicing the Pemberton and the surrounding community located in the heart of the Southern Forests Region approximately three and half hours from Perth.

As the Bar Manager, you will be pivotal in crafting (along with your team) a memorable experience for locals and travellers alike. If you enjoy working with a range of community members in a friendly environment, then this is the position for you.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing inventory levels, ordering and stock control to optimise efficiency and minimise waste

• PSC Club opening and closing responsibilities in collaboration with Administration staff

• Assure all transactions and banking are conducted with no variance

• Creates drink and food menus in collaboration with Restaurant Manager

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, excellence and professionalism

• Train, mentor and supervise bar staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service and adherence to PSC standards

• Ensure that the bar is fully staff particularly during peak/busy times

• Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations and maintain cleanliness and organisation in the bar area paying attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations

• Track customer preferences and sales

• Maintains drink recipe documentation

• Oversee planning for special events

• Appropriately assign tasks to staff

• Checking customers identification (including age) and Club membership status

• Oversees staff, including bar, volunteers, security staff etc.

• Hire, training, promotion and when necessary, discipline bar staff

• Assist with music selection, entertainment bookings eg bands,

• Provide input on décor and marketing, including social media and other forms of publicity

• Initiates and maintains vendor relationships

• Use of point-of-sale technology and bar management platforms

• Create, update and follow organisational policies and procedures guidelines in relation to bar facility

• Maintain budget and monitors costs

• Monthly financial and other reporting to the PSC Management Committee

• Banking and daily float organisation for bar

• Ensure the EPOS terminals are updated with the latest products, pricings and loyalty/reward documentation.

Bar Manager Qualifications/Skills

• Current RSA and WA Approved Manager Certification (or be willing to obtain it before commencement)

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar role in a bar environment

• Accomplished mixologist

• Excellent multitasking ability

• Attention to detail

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve common goals

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering superior customer service

• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and problem solving skills

• Excellent knowledge of food, beverage and hospitality industry standards

• Able to maintain composure in stressful situations

• Experience of modern POS systems eg EPOS to facilitate orders and process payments

• Ability to occasionally lift 25kgs

• Willingness to work as required eg evenings, weekends and public holidays

• Preparation and serving of high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

• Engaging with customers, advising them of current and upcoming promotions

• Ensuring the bar areas are clean and well maintained, with any spills and other health hazards actioned appropriately

• Able to work effectively with others members of Bar and Restaurant teams

• Attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a noisy, high-pressure environment

• National Police Clearance
