Job Description - Behaviour Support Practitioner - Leading Industry Pay

Position title: Quality Assurance Manager – Behaviour Support

ACC has a unique opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to Lead Client Centric Training Division and support a team of Disability Service Managers, Client Case Management Officers and support staff.

[This is not a regular BSP role.  The candidate does not have responsibility as NDIS funded BSP for the client. This is a role where an Experience BSP leads   Client Centric Training Division and helps the organisation to provide a support structure that meets the client centric support needs] in best possible manner.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Actively work alongside with Client Transition team and participate in client transition meetings (between internal and external stakeholders) with the objective of: 
    • Identifying ‘Client Support Risk’ at the early stages of client transition to ACC.
    • All the reports, documents etc are requested from stakeholders’ team so that ACC can prepare “Client Care Plan” at the early stages of Client Transition in timely manner. 

 

  • Develop (in a very early stage of Client transition) Client Care Plan & Risk Management Plan as required to mitigate support risk to client. 
    • Continuous update of Care Plan as and when new risks are identified 

 

  • Provide a thorough handover to Disability Service Manager to ensure that Disability Service Manager is adept with 
    • Client Care Plan 
    • Client Staffing specifications 

 

  • Develop training plan for each client’s support staff team with an objective of ensuring 
    • Support staffs understand client support risk as identified and presented in Care Plan. 
    • Support staff understands client risk mitigation strategies and support protocol prescribed in Care Plan.

 

  • Provide training to Support Staff on client Care Plan as and when such training is needed. 

 

  • Provide trainings to Disability Service Managers and Client Case Management Officers so that any training conducted by Disability Service Manager and Client Case Management Officer meets quality standards.

 

  • Work Closely with Client Reporting and Client Data Analytic team to ensure that 
    • Client data collection questionnaire (that support staff submits as a part of their shift duty document submission) satisfies two-fold objective 
      • Objective 1- client centric data collection needs are met to ensure client’s physical and behavioural support needs/risk are correctly identified and reported by support staff.
      • Objective 2 – Data collection also tracks and monitors if support staff are correctly practicing the support strategies and support protocols as per Client Care Plan 

 

  • Review training videos of training conducted by Disability Service Managers and Client Case Management Officers as a continuous quality assurance program. 

 

The successful candidate will meet below criteria 

 

  • Registered as Behaviour Support Practitioner with NDIS. 
  • Essential- bachelor’s degree in psychology or Behaviour Science.
  • Have at least 2 plus year of post qualification experience.
  • Is a people person, has empathy and respect towards people living with Disability. 
  • Has a solid knack for creating a care plan with professional and easy to read language - rightly targeted to the audience (which is support staff).
  • Ability to read and understand client data collected by Support Staff and liaising with Internal Client Reporting and Data Analytic team to translate the data into reports for stakeholders such that. 
    • Client support risk is correctly identified and reported   and 
    • ACC endeavour to day to day manage and mitigate support risk are rightly and correctly reported. 
  • Is proactive to identify client support risk and assess the gaps in training provided to Support Staff and provide required training.
  • Is a multitasker – can work with multiple & conflicting deadline from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in high pressure and output driven environments.
  • Owns a Car and is able to commute between different location within Greater Sydney. 

 

Salary: $90-100K (Negotiable) 

Work from Austral office 4 days per week – work from home 1 day per week
