The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Bid Manager to join our team located in the Perth CBD. The successful candidate will play a crucial role preparing and overseeing all Bhagwan Marine bids to ensure the successful gain of business contracts and/or ongoing work.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with ~5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bid process by preparing and submitting winning tenders, expression of interests, proposals and presentations and pitch content that articulates Bhagwan Marine’s value proposition and themes.
  • Manage the accuracy of the business pipeline register with the Business Development Managers.
  • Ensure that all bids are processed correctly, and approval gates are managed with Business Development Managers and Senior Managers.
  • Ensure that all major bids have a clear program for delivery and that key bid processes are coordinated.
  • Ensure that a standard library of responses is kept and made available for bids.
  • Assist with bid writing and bid documentation collation and completion.
  • Take ownership of the Bid Management Process, including bid writing.
  • Encourage and collate innovative and strategic thinking from stakeholders for bid submissions. 
  • Provide detailed costings for customers and ensure that the contracts are profitable.
  • Providing inputs into Tender Compliance documents or delegating them to the relevant task owners.
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Assist with the identification and selection of partners, specialists, and subcontractors.
  • Develop a tender execution plan to ensure resources are appropriate and used effectively and efficiently.
  • Understanding the inclusion of third-party products/solutions in the bid response and ensuring the relationships with third party vendors are well established and documented. 
  • Ensure that all Management is conducted in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, to ensure safety to staff, the community, and the environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications Business Management or related fields in essential.
  • Charted Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position within the Marine Industry.
  • Recognised operational experience with a broad exposure and understanding in commercial and business development projects and regulatory compliance requirements including application of International and Australian standards specific to the Marine Industry.
  • Clear understanding of Corporate Governance and Social responsibilities.
  • Understanding of budgets and forecasting.
  • Results-orientated.
  • Ability to work proactively.
  • High standards of honesty, integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills, including strong motivation, team building and influencing skills.
