Job Description - Bioresources Consultant

Job Description

Overview

Driven by strong growth across Australia and global bioresources markets, our Bioresources team is expanding. We are therefore on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals at all levels, from early-career consultants to senior water industry professionals, to join a dynamic water consulting team delivering asset management, strategy, regulatory, technical and operational advice.

This is an opportunity to build your career in a sector undergoing rapid regulatory, technological and commercial change, supporting net-zero ambitions, shaping future bioresource and biosolids strategies, pioneering innovative treatment technologies and helping clients unlock the full value of biosolids and other resources for a more resilient future.

Your role

As a part of the Water team, you'll examine, assess and develop ways to drive positive real-world outcomes and to deliver innovative, industry leading solutions for bioresources and biosolids. This will include working on projects, contributing to bids, developing new business propositions or researching potential new markets. We want you to help us grow our business by:

  • Working within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver excellent results for our clients, addressing challenges and converting them into opportunities for bioresources and biosolids management.
  • Analysing bioresources / biosolids / wastewater processes and operations, using appropriate tools and techniques to identify improvements in accordance with client objectives.
  • Preparing reports and presenting to a range of client stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the development of operational improvement tools, techniques and methods that build capability within our teams.
  • Maintaining and enhancing our technical, regulatory and market capability within the context of bioresources and biosolids management.

About you

You’re an enthusiastic consultant at any stage of your career, with an interest in the water industry and a desire to make a real impact. You will ideally demonstrate:

  • A driven self-starter, excited at the prospect of joining and contributing to the development of a rapidly growing Australian business unit within a global Teir 1 engineering services firm.
  • Experience in a technical, strategic or environmental discipline relevant to the water sector, specifically in relation to biosolids and wastewater, including skills gained in complementary roles.
  • A degree in a relevant scientific, engineering or environmental discipline, or a recognised professional qualification.
  • Passionate about developing both technically and professionally, with a strong interest in the future of the biosolids and bioresources sector and its potential.
  • Proven ability to plan, manage and deliver work to challenging deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to different stakeholders and clearly present technical solutions to non‑technical audiences.
  • The location of the role is flexible across the East Coast of Australia, with hybrid-working supported and with potential offices including Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

Rewards & benefits

Explore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career.

This includes:

  • Flexible and hybrid work solutions
  • Remote work opportunities outside of Australia
  • Performance driven discretionary bonus program
  • Employee Wellbeing Program: 24/7 access to specialists in finance, legal matters, family care, personal health, fitness, and nutrition

Seize every opportunity to sharpen your skills, expand your expertise, and be recognised for the impact you make.
