The Workshop undertakes a range of tasks to manage Macmahon’s fleet of mobile equipment, as well as maintenance projects for external clients. The workshop is undercover and houses the rebuild workshop, quarantine, sandblast and paint shop, component workshop and warehouse store. 

Our maintenance teams take pride in keeping our sites operating safely and efficiently. You’ll work with skilled people, who look out for each other and take pride in doing the job right. Together, we keep our fleet safe and reliable.  

About the Role 

You’ll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and maintaining heavy mobile equipment used in mining operations. You’ll work alongside experienced teammates who share knowledge and support each other to get the job done safely and efficiently. 

Role Details and Benefits 

• Location: Perth Airport, WA (Residential)


• Roster: 4D7N3X5D2X5D2X  (with a week of Nights every 4 weeks)


• Rate: depending on experience

Responsibilities 

• Performing all welding, gouging, cutting or other duties as specified by Supervisor and reporting findings accurately


• Repairing and fabricating any metal components


• Complete servicing to OEM standards and site procedures


• Support strong equipment availability and safe, reliable performance


• Speak-up and contribute to our culture; everyone home safe, every swing


• Work closely with production and planning teams to schedule work

What You’ll Bring 

• Australian recognised Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade))


• Proven experience working on Earthmoving Equipment


• Experience with Caterpillar Systems (ET, SIS, VIMS) 


• Ability to work as part of a team and step up when needed


• Commitment to safe work practices and job quality


• Current unrestricted C Class MANUAL Australian Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
