The Company: Wemyss Group (Wemyss Estates Pty Ltd) is a small, diverse group of companies based in Perth, WA, with interests in agriculture, property, and mining services.  The group is the Australian subsidiary of the family-owned Wemyss Development Company Ltd based in Edinburgh, UK, and in 2024, celebrates its 60th year in business in Australia with a commitment to continue focussing on growth.  To achieve this goal, we are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to perform various finance and administration duties on a day-to-day basis.

Position Description: The group requires an experienced Bookkeeper to join the finance team and manage bookkeeping and reconciliations for a small group of companies. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and supporting the organisation's financial operations. This unique opportunity offers a diverse range of tasks, making it ideal for someone with a multifaceted skill set.

About the role

This Bookkeeping role will be shared with the existing administration team.

It will include such duties but are not limited to:

  1. Accounts Payable/Receivable
  2. Payroll
  3. Data Entry 
  4. Accurate processing of AR & AP invoices
  5. Bank reconciliations
  6. Office Administration - Office all-rounder 
  7. Duties to assist the Management Team and Directors 

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in Bookkeeping and Office Administration, preferably in a multi-entity environment
  • Demonstrated experience in using XERO and MYOB 
  • Medium to high-level Microsoft Excel user (and other MS products)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrable skills in self-discipline, time management and thriving working individually and as part of a team
  • Adaptable with a willingness to learn new software programs
