Job Description
As the Broadcast Systems Manager, you will hold a mission-critical role responsible for the end-to-end engineering excellence, uptime, and maintenance of Tapt Media's national broadcast systems. You will lead the charge in ensuring our studios are built and supported to the highest enterprise standards, utilizing specialised expertise in modern Audio over IP (AoIP) infrastructures and industry-leading automation software platforms.

Home to the country’s most influential stations 2GB, 3AW, 4BC, and 6PR as well as a growing slate of podcast titles, we reach millions of Australians every week. With a focus on "Live and Local" content, we offer Australians and brands the intimacy and trust of radio, combined with the deep engagement and storytelling of podcasts and social.
Note on Ownership: Nine Radio is proud to have recently joined Tapt Media. While this recruitment process is being managed by Nine under a transition of services agreement, the successful candidate will be employed directly by Tapt Media.
Day to day you will:
Oversee the installation, configuration, preventative maintenance, and tier-3 support of all national studio and transmission hardware to ensure zero broadcast downtime.
Act as the primary subject matter expert for the Pathfinder Core PRO broadcast orchestration platform, designing and maintaining critical system logic, routing, and automation.
Manage, configure, and update key broadcast-specific software suites including RCS (Zetta/GSelector), Broadcast Bionics (Bionic Studio/Director), and Cloudcast software solutions.
Offer expert knowledge and support for Tapt's essential broadcast hardware, such as the Quasar XR consoles, Infinity Intercom system, and Zephyr Connect Codecs.
Engage directly with technology vendors and tier-1 partner suppliers to manage complex bug reporting, prioritize patch deployments, and coordinate system upgrades.
Create, review, and maintain thorough technical documentation, system drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to empower support desks and operational staff.
Champion rigorous change management frameworks to ensure system modifications are properly planned, tested, and communicated to on-air talent and executive stakeholders.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
7+ Years in Broadcast Media Engineering with extensive, verifiable experience engineering and supporting live production environments within major commercial radio, television, or broadcast networks.
Advanced AoIP Architecture skills with expert-level mastery of Audio over IP protocols and standards (Livewire+, AES67, Dante, Ravenna) and their respective multicast network routing topologies.
Deep hands-on knowledge of Telos Alliance Pathfinder Core orchestration software, routing systems, and virtual routers.
Comprehensive administration and engineering experience with RCS, Broadcast Bionics, Cloudcast, and Telos ecosystems.
A strong background in corporate change-control workflows and high-level stakeholder communication skills to navigate fast-changing live environments.
Desirable: Relevant qualifications in Electronics, Network Engineering, or Broadcast Technology, alongside familiarity with virtualisation, containerised services, project management methodologies (Agile, PRINCE2), and ITIL service frameworks.
