Job Description - Business Analyst - Air Tickets

As an analyst , you will be part of a team that is fundamental to the successful positioning of Air Tickets application and software offering.

  • You will use your analytical skills to quickly learn and apply complex new technologies to support the business so that it is able to deliver innovative travel solutions. 
  • Drive awareness and provide travel and accounting requirements to support the software development, planning, testing, and implementation of improved or new software solutions. 
  • Perform, evaluate, and communicate through quality assurance at every stage of systems development.
  •  Attend daily standups, sprint planning sessions.
  • Join a team of professional business systems analysts and software developers.
  • Contribute and share your ideas to innovative travel solutions.

You will have a strong technical knowledge, ideally within the travel industry whilst being able to proficiently provide concise travel and accounting requirements and ensure new and existing solutions are tested thoroughly and efficiently.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with business stakeholders and subject matter expert to understand their problems and needs.
  •  Work closely with our software developers to learn and understand all system workflows and dependencies. 
  • Ensure Jira user stories are created with clear and appropriate level of requirements that can be followed by developers. 
  • Identify ways of improving automation rates through the evolution of system enhancements and ensure new and existing solutions are tested thoroughly and efficiently. 
  • Create internal and external documents, including system release notes, that describe new, adapted, or existing system processes. 
  • Solve business problems and identifying solutions that can measure organisational performance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE  

  • Proven analytical abilities that assist with planning, designing, and testing of new and existing software solutions.
  • Preparing technical requirements and maintaining appropriate documents. 
  • Excellent organisational and priority management skills, including ability to meet deadlines and to follow tasks through to completion. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and listening). 
  • Good understanding of travel systems and processes, including Fares & Ticketing experience.
  • Understanding of Global Distribution Systems (GDS), Travelport, Sabre and Amadeus 
  • Airline or previous travel industry experience an advantage

QUALIFICATIONS & FORMAL TRAINING  

  • Business Analyst certificate or equivalent. 
  • Proficient with MS Office applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Solid understanding of AGILE methodologies 
  • JIRA and other agile development tools. 
  • MS SQL and the ability to query and analyse complex data structures. 
  • Basic knowledge and experience in web services testing, including Json and XML formats
