About the role 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated sales professional, with strong leadership skills, to be a key part of achieving our growth objectives.

Reporting to the CSO, you will be an innovative, collaborative, and detail orientated individual who is capable of being hands-on as well as making a significant contribution to the overarching strategic plans of the business. You will own, build, and continuously improve our sales function. Your focus will be on profitable sales growth, by acquiring new clients and implementing practices to retain and grow our existing accounts.

You will enjoy working autonomously and have the ability to develop the sales function of the business to achieve sustainable growth. 

Key responsibilities

  • Sales strategy development: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives
  • Lead generation and prospecting: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, market research, networking, and targeted prospecting efforts. 
  • Client relationship management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and challenges to provide tailored solutions that align with requirements. 
  • Product and service knowledge: Acquire in-depth knowledge about the products and services being offered by the business to effectively communicate their features and benefits to clients.  
  • Needs assessment: Engaging in thorough discussions with customers to identify their requirements and understand how the products or services can meet their needs.
  • Recommendations: Providing tailored recommendations and solutions that align with the customer's needs and preferences, showcasing how the offerings can add value to their lives or businesses.
  • Upselling and cross-selling: Identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products or services that complement the customer's primary purchase.
  • Closing sales: Skilfully guiding customers through the sales process to secure a commitment or purchase from them.
  • Team leadership and collaboration: Lead, motivate, and mentor direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship and support to enhance their performance and achieve individual and team objectives. 
  • Sales presentations and negotiations: Conduct persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the benefits and value of the business’s services and offerings. 
  • Market analysis and insights: Stay updated with industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences, leveraging this information to adapt and refine sales strategies as required.
  • Sales forecasting and reporting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and regularly update management on sales performance, key metrics, and market trends.
  • Internal stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with the operations, training, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of services, timely delivery, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Networking and industry events: Represent the company at relevant industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and identify potential business opportunities.
  • Marketing collaboration: Coordinate with the Marketing Manager to ensure seamless execution of marketing activities that support sales goals.
  • Brand management: Maintain brand consistency across all marketing materials and touchpoints. Work closely with design and creative teams to develop impactful visual assets. Manage public relations efforts to ensure positive media coverage and brand representation. 

About you

  • Qualifications in business, healthcare, education, marketing or a related field is desirable
  • Proven track record (3+years) of sales experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of effectively managing and motivating sales and marketing teams to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to sales planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse market data, identify trends, and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
  • Capacity to work across diverse business units.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
  • Willingness to work out-of-hours when required.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience in MS office and Outlook
