Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our Sales and Marketing team in Sofitel Brisbane Central. As a key player in our organisation's growth strategy, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and driving sales performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through networking, telemarketing, and client engagement.
  • Manage and grow key accounts, ensuring retention, repeat business, and maximized revenue through cross-selling and upselling hotel services.
  • Conduct appointments, site inspections, familiarisations, and sales trips; represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and sporting functions.
  • Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and agreements; negotiate contracts within approved guidelines and ensure timely follow-ups to maximise conversion.
  • Work closely with Revenue, Marketing, and Operations teams to align sales strategy and ensure service excellence.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic direction.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, accounts, and opportunities in the hotel’s CRM; submit regular activity reports.
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence within the hotel, supporting client engagement and adherence to brand standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, event sales, or key account management, preferably within the hospitality or events industry
  • Strong knowledge of MICE, Corporate, Sporting, and group business markets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel and work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach to business development.
