Job Description - Business Development Manager

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing mortgage lender with a strong broker-first culture. This role suits someone who can build trust quickly, manage a portfolio with confidence, and add value from day one. You'll be supported by dedicated internal resources and work closely with leadership to manage and grow an established broker network.

The Role

As a BDM, you'll be responsible for developing strong relationships with mortgage brokers, driving new business, and increasing application volumes across a defined portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with a portfolio of brokers, helping them grow their business
  • Drive applications and new business by spotting opportunities and guiding brokers to the right solutions
  • Expand your network by connecting with new brokers and turning them into long-term partners
  • Keep your sales activity and pipeline organised and up-to-date in CRM systems
  • Develop and follow clear plans, including regular check-ins and outreach campaigns
  • Represent the company at industry events, professional development days, and networking opportunities
  • Deliver responsive, practical solutions that help brokers succeed and ensure a seamless experience
About You
  • Previous BDM experience in the third-party broker market
  • Minimum 2 years' lending experience
  • Non-bank or specialist lending background preferred
  • Proven relationship management and sales performance
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and team-oriented
