The Role:

As the Business Development Manager at Metro, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Your mission will be to boost sales, broaden our client base, and meet revenue targets. This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyse market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to craft effective business strategies.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Prospecting and cultivating new business within your state.

• Identifying and targeting potential clients to establish new business relationships.

• Collaborating with the National Sales Executive to create promotional campaigns and materials that enhance our company's visibility.

• Participating in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and showcase our services.

• Skilfully negotiate rates, contracts, and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.

• Keeping a close watch on industry trends and staying up to date with changes and developments in the transportation sector.

• Working closely with the National Sales Executive, State Managers and the operations team to ensure a seamless onboarding service delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Leveraging the CRM to document activities related to pipeline, opportunities, and successful deals.

What You Need to Succeed in This Role:

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar role within the transportation and logistics industry.

• A deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management within the transportation sector.

• A track record of successfully achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to lead and inspire a team of sales professionals.

• An analytical mindset with the capability to make data-driven decisions.

• Proficiency in using CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel as needed.
