Position Summary

A unique opportunity to join our luxury hotel, this position will be based in the newly constructed and architecturally designed Capella Sydney, reporting to the Director of Sales.

 

The Sales Managers will be responsible for leading and managing primarily groups with elements of MICE sales activities pertaining to a variety of accounts and markets. The individual acts as the point of contact for clients, highly contributing to business generation, ensuring that all direct sales activities aligns with the sales strategies and that both individual and hotel's goals are met to maximise revenue.

 

The Role:

  • Provide inspirational leadership with a clear vision and direction to team members to ensure delivery of the Capella brand values and vision, to create an amazing experience for all guests and colleagues.
  • Provide a proactive approach to sales, develop sales action plans to target groups and MICE business.
  • Assist in achieving the annual operating budget to meet and exceed budget expectations. Ensure successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the property owner and the hotel.
  • Prospect new businesses, identify new business opportunities and areas of improvement
  • Create and maintain relationships with key accounts and develop new relationships to ensure optimum exposure and opportunity to bid on new accounts.
  • Maintain close relationships with external parties/partners and up to date with the market competition
  • Be able travel for conventions and clients 

 

Talent Profile:

  • Tertiary Education in Hotel Management/Business or related
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role at luxury hotels/resort
  • Excellent personal presentation and grooming
  • Highly organized and with excellent people and negotiating skills
  • Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Existing valid working rights in Australia
