What will this role achieve?

The Business Development Manager will have full ownership of the Baked & Savoury P&L and commercial relationships in Morrisons worth £17m Net Sales.

At pladis, you get the chance to fast-track your career, to do things bigger, better and faster and be a member of a leading sales team where challenging the norm is good. The hard working UK Sales Team at pladis employs approximately 150 people across functions including account management, category management and customer marketing. The Team coordinates the delivery of the commercial budgets across the UK, split into three channels: Grocery; Convenience & Impulse; and Discounters. The Morrisons is P&L worth £73m in revenue.

Working Pattern: Chiswick Park -> Fully Remote. Employees are not expected in the office on any specific days, but Chiswick is their contractual place of work, and they’re required to self-travel into the office for meetings whenever vital, but that there are no set days of each week that they’re encouraged to be in by default.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Confer and agree the annual JBP with monthly tracking and communication internally and with the customer ensuring there is a recovery plan if supervising off plan.

  • Supervise and hold Morrisons to account on key business targets including OSF, share of space, distribution & value share.

  • Sell and confer an optimum and profitable Christmas Plan with Morrisons.

  • Be responsible for the contact strategy with buyers on a weekly basis and ensuring the full year plans is implemented.

  • Always seeking new ways to drive incremental profitable sales through Morrisons formats.

  • Ensuring all customer promotional plan and admin is completed on time and in full.

  • Raise the profile of Morrisons strategy internally and to ensure pladis continue to support their agenda profitably.

  • Support the controller in monthly internal forecast review meetings.

  • Own the sales forecast and ensure the forecast accuracy is met to business targets.

Bring your experience

Essential

  • Experience in a customer facing role within FMCG.

  • Working autonomously and as part of a team towards business set targets

  • Strong problem solving and solution orientated

  • Logical mind and eye strong for detail

  • Good financial and commercial ability

  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint & presentation skills

Desirable

  • Top 4 FMCG experience

  • Experience of dealing with Morrisons as a customer

  • Experience in Impulse categories

  • Branded experience (as opposed to Retailer Brand)
