About the company

The largest and most prestigious Accounting firm based in the heart of stunning Swan Hill in northern Victoria sitting on the Murray River, my client is going through continued growth and planning for the future.

This four Partner, 40+ staff firm provide a broad range of services across Business Services, Tax, Audit, and other specialist services for their large and diverse client base. 

The Partners are genuine and personable while being experts at what they do. Given the location in Victoria, they help a large number of farming clients as well as clients from a variety of other industries too. Farming client exposure is not essential in this role as the Partners are happy to train you on the specifics, but exposure to farming clients would be a bonus. 

They are technologically advanced to ensure high efficiency for their clients and also so their Accountants can spend time building relationships directly assisting clients.

About the role

They have identified an opportunity for a Business Services Accounting Manager or Partner-elect to take advantage of a huge opportunity in the firm. They are looking for a leader of the business who could be interested in progressing to Partner in the short term. 

You would be given a significant portfolio of clients to manage immediately. You would be supported initially with whatever you need by the other Partners but these clients will be yours to manage as you wish. You will have a team of accountants to manage directly to support you. 

The point of this role is to:

• Help the accountants continue with high productivity and quality work while providing them with ongoing support. 
• Manage your own portfolio of clients to the level you would want them to be serviced if it was your own firm, delegating work appropriately to the team and meeting clients whenever you feel appropriate. 
• In the long-term, grow your portfolio
• Help the Partners with the strategic growth of the firm. 
• Become a 5th Partner of the firm

Duties, skills, and experience

• Help manage the direction of the firm's growth with the Partners.
• Engaging personality with articulate communication skills. Someone who can lead people and represent the firm well with clients. 
• Experience managing staff and client portfolios.
• Qualified Accountant.
• 7+ years of relevant experience ideally working end-to-end with clients and not reliant on separate tax teams for complex work.
