Cafe All Rounder / Front of House / Barista - Urgent Hire

We are seeking a Front of House / Barista to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who values flexibility while simultaneously pursuing a career in food and beverage service. We are looking for an energetic person who will deliver excellent customer service and sales to all clients and residents.

About Us:

The Foundry Café on King is part of Newcastle’s first mixed-use Development. Home to Gym on King, Explore & Develop Childcare, 291 on King Hotel and Commercial Operations.

The Café is a 7-day operation.

Key skills and responsibilities:

• Warmly great each and every customer and guest;
• Take and accurately relay guest orders to beverage teams and kitchen;
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee with precision and attention to detail;
• Assisting in light food preparation;
• Table service duties;
• Provide answers to all guest related enquiries and questions with poise and professionalism;
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient front of house;
• Uphold our hygiene, health and safety at all times;
• Use of POS system and cash handling;
• Deliver catered items within the building.

Essential:

• Must be Barista Certified, trained and experienced;
• Must have Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one.

About You:

• Demonstrated 12 months or more experience in a similar role;
• Knowledge of coffee varieties and brewing methods;
• Energetic, warm customer service;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Available to work on weekends when required;
• Exceptional customer service skills and positive “can do attitude”;
• Must have an excellent work ethic, be well presented and friendly.
