Job Description - Cafe Manager - Opportunity to Make a Difference

We are in need of a driven Cafe Manager to join our passionate team at Taste My Bean in Hope Island, Gold Coast QLD.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE

Full Time

38 hours set roster 2 RDO’s (must work weekends)

Store Opening Shifts 3.30am and Closing Shifts 6.30 pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As a manager at Taste My Bean, your role is pivotal in fostering a thriving and cohesive team environment while ensuring exceptional customer service. You will take the lead in managing team rosters and shift coverage, ensuring that staffing levels are optimized for efficiency and productivity. Additionally, you'll oversee the on-the-floor positions, including being a barista and preparing food and beverages to meet customer demands promptly and accurately.

 

Your focus on training and development will empower team members to excel in their roles, fostering skill growth and enhancing the overall performance of the team. With a keen eye for detail, you'll also monitor inventory levels and manage kitchen supplies to maintain seamless operations. Through your leadership, dedication to excellence, and commitment to fostering a positive work environment, you'll play a crucial role in the success of our team and the satisfaction of our customers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Actively contributing to the cleanliness and order of the store.

- Take and accurately log customer orders, ensuring all preferences and special requests are noted.

- Handle Point-of-Sale (POS) processes, which includes proficiently managing transactions, handling, and counting money, and providing precise change.

- Operate the drive-through system efficiently, ensuring prompt and courteous service to all customers.

- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure a seamless workflow.

- Assisting the team on food preparation and serving as required

- Expertly preparing TMB Range of beverages, including hot and cold coffee drinks

- Ensuring the proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of coffee machines and related equipment.

- Manage team rosters, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and addressing scheduling needs.

- Monitor and manage kitchen supplies, stock, and store inventory levels. Oversee ordering as needed.

- Document and report any shift issues, incidents, or reports.

- Report maintenance needs to upper management and follow up on required repairs.

- Contribute to the training process for new team members, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into the team.

- Foster teamwork, support, and skill development among team members.

- Ensure that all team members adhere to TMB policies, procedures, and industry regulations.

- Help ensure that the store complies with all health and safety regulations, creating a safe environment for both staff and customers.

 

COMPENSATION

Taste My Bean operates within the framework of the Food and Beverage stream of the Restaurant Industry Award 2020. This role is a Level 3 Classification and offered a salary package based on your agreed and set rostered hours.

 

As a team member, you'll enjoy staff discounts on a range of food and beverages.

 

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

- Capable of standing for extended periods, with the ability to lift items weighing up to 10kg

- Strong English proficiency coupled with good customer service.

- Extensive experience as a barista and hospitality industry.

- Minimum 1 year experience in team leadership / management / or similar role

- RSA certificate
