Job Description - Cardijn Alumni Employment Opportunities

Cardijn Alumni Employment Opportunities

Casual and Fixed Term (Multiple)

Cardijn College produces excellent graduates, many of whom are interested in returning to the College as volunteers or paid employees after graduation.

The Cardijn Alumni Employment Opportunities process aims to connect with College alumni and continue to enhance the Family Spirit that Cardijn College develops in its graduates. The program aims to work in partnership with graduates who commence tertiary study in areas that support the broader needs of the community, and who, upon tertiary graduation, may present skills that are desirable for employment in the Cardijn Community.

Understanding the underpinning philosophy of Joseph Cardijn’s methodology and the Marist characteristics, these alumni may gain paid, practical experience that supports their area of study and future career aspirations. Therefore, the Cardijn Alumni Employment Opportunities process is designed to be mutually beneficial for the College, its alumni and current students.

Current casual employment opportunities exist for Old Scholars who are studying Education (primary or secondary), Disability Studies, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology in the following areas:

  • Curriculum support ESO roles with students who have additional needs through the Marist Centre or the LaValla Centre (Cardijn College, Marian Campus)

  • Senior Study Supervisor & Student Tutor (Cardijn College, Marian Campus)

  • Out of School Hours Care (Cardijn College, Galilee Campus)

We would also like to hear from Old Scholars who are interested in registering for future casual employment opportunities, including:

  • Supporting school camps and excursions

  • Front office and administration relief work

  • Directing Music Ensembles

  • Teaching Instrumental Music

  • ATSI Mentors

  • Maintenance work

Old scholars may work in shifts instead of full days and may be rostered for regular shifts each week or called upon for casual relief work when required. Old Scholars in these roles are usually paid at an ESO Grade One or ESO Grade Two rate according to the  Catholic Education South Australia Enterprise Agreement 2020 unless otherwise agreed upon due to the nature of the role.

It is preferred that old scholars are studying at a tertiary level in the area that they wish to gain casual employment in. It is also advisable that applicants have already completed their Working with Children Check. It is advantageous for applicants to have their First Aid qualification and Reporting Abuse & Neglect certificate.

To express an interest in any of the current employment opportunities mentioned above, please click on Apply for this Job and upload your curriculum vitae and cover letter indicating the areas of interest.
