The Colley Hotel is looking for a casual chef to support the team.

Located in the heart of Adelaide’s best beachside suburb, Glenelg, The Colley Hotel offers multiple cuisines over two kitchens.

The Colley Hotel is looking for an experienced chef who is capable of working both pans and grill sections of the kitchen. The Colley provides an exciting opportunity for you to demonstrate and develop your culinary skills.

Purpose

As a Colley Chef, you will play a pivotal role in our team, learning from our experienced senior chefs, or teaching our junior chefs by showcasing your unwavering love for food, creative spark, and strong teamwork abilities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensuring that food presented to guests aligns with the Colley standards and is served within designated timeframes, whilst maintaining high quality and presentation
• Stay diligent in adhering to local regulations related to health, safety, and compliance, with a solid grasp of food safety
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in preparing food items
• Receive ongoing training and guidance from senior chefs

Skills & Experience

• Experienced in operating both pans and grill sections of a kitchen.
• The possession of recognised culinary training and employment experience
• A commercial cookery certification and have obtained safe food handling certificate.
• Someone who has ambition, raw talent, and a passion for food.
• Being open to feedback and willing to experiment with new ideas is a big plus.
• Thriving in a fast-paced team environment is key.
• The ability to communicate in a clear and articulate manner.
• Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
