Are you passionate about harm reduction and building meaningful connections in the community? We’re looking for someone to join our AOD Outreach & Community Engagement team as a Casual Outreach Worker.

In this role, you’ll walk alongside people who use drugs in the North Richmond area, providing practical support, brief interventions, and links to care through a trauma-informed and person-centred approach. This is a great opportunity to work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team including Complex Care Coordinators, Lived Experience and Mental Health Workers.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct on-foot, assertive outreach across North Richmond


• Provide harm reduction advice and overdose response


• Distribute Naloxone and equipment as part of the NSP


• Support health promotion events like Overdose Awareness Day and Hep C awareness


• Work collaboratively with community members, businesses, and services


• Support initial engagement, referrals, and follow-up care in partnership with Complex Care Coordinators

About you:

• You are committed to supporting vulnerable communities


• You hold a Cert IV or higher in AOD, Community Services, or a related field


• You have experience in outreach, harm reduction, or the AOD space


• You’re a strong communicator and work well in a multidisciplinary team


• You’re flexible and comfortable working casual shifts, including weekends and public holidays
