Part of the CSR Group, our Logistics Business Unit has been created to embed leading practice logistics & supply chain solutions across CSR to establish a platform for growth capability, customer service and efficiency. Our aim is to improve safety, service, people, and costs whilst contributing to, and delivering the strategic change for the benefit of CSR and our customers.

THE OPPORTUNITY

CSR is seeking a Category Manager – Logistics to join our team based in North Ryde . Reporting to the General Manager – Group Procurement the successful candidate will be a facilitator of knowledge and a champion for corporate procurement governance within Logistics Categories.

The Category Manager will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and contracts as well as performance and risk management across Logistics Categories including but not limited to Transport, International Logistics, Manual Handling Equipment and Warehousing.

About the role:

  • Managing six step sourcing process including demand analysis, supply analysis, sourcing strategy development, execution of sourcing process, contract execution, contract life cycle management and supplier relationship management.
  • Strategic category management of Transport, International Logistics and Manual Handling Equipment across the end-to-end procurement value chain
  • Developing category strategy for Transport, International Logistics and Manual Handling Equipment categories in alignment with CSR Supply Chain Transformation business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Transport Team as a business partner to aid in the execution of transport/transformation strategy objectives. Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Build pipeline of opportunities for cost reduction / efficiency enhancement / risk mitigation
  • Establish, develop and maintain strong working relationships with key CSR stakeholders within the Logistics Categories.
  • Work with various business stakeholders in understanding the category spend and identifying opportunities to increase quality and improve value for money.

About you:

  • Experienced and knowledgeable across supply chain and logistics (including CoR).
  • Strong category management experience.
  • Success in developing and executing sound, customer-focused category plans.
  • A drive and desire to achieve excellent outcomes in a competitive market;
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a wider team.
  • Proven success in negotiating and influencing at all levels.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • The ability to lead and manage complex negotiations and improve on supplier performance.
  • Abilities and proven experience of extracting value by developing market innovations with key strategic partners.
  • Proven background in delivering complex projects through multi-disciplined teams and continue to demonstrate the ability to engage and motivate others, along with strong stakeholder management at a senior level.
