Catering & Events Manager (12-Month Maternity Cover)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an engaging, driven and highly organised Catering & Events Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating memorable guest experiences through the planning, coordination and execution of events ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences and bespoke celebrations across our diverse portfolio of event spaces.

You will oversee the end-to-end event experience, working closely with clients, operational teams and key stakeholders to ensure every detail is delivered seamlessly and to the highest standard.

This role requires exceptional attention to detail, flexibility, strong leadership and communication skills, and a professional can-do attitude. Key Accountabilities

• Manage the end-to-end planning, coordination and execution of events, from intimate functions to large-scale conferences and celebrations.


• Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring event requirements are understood and delivered to the highest standard.


• Collaborate closely with Sales, Food & Beverage, Culinary and hotel operations to ensure seamless event delivery.


• Prepare and communicate accurate event documentation, function details and operational briefings.


• Oversee event execution, maintaining a visible presence and ensuring an exceptional guest and client experience.


• Lead, coach and support the team to maintain high service and presentation standards.


• Identify opportunities to maximise event revenue through upselling and enhanced event experiences.


• Proactively resolve operational challenges and client concerns with a professional, solutions-focused approach.


• Monitor and respond to all client feedback and guest satisfaction, proactively addressing concerns and identifying opportunities to continuously improve the overall event experience.


• Ensure events comply with brand standards, RSA, workplace health and safety, and hotel procedures.

About You

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in catering, conferencing or events, with previous experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity 


• Proven ability to plan, coordinate and execute events, from intimate functions through to large-scale conferences and celebrations 


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate and support operational teams in delivering exceptional events 


• Strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to exceptional guest service 


• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously 


• Immaculate personal presentation and exceptional attention to detail 


• A passion for creating and delivering bespoke events and memorable guest experiences 


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across email, phone and face-to-face interactions 


• Confidence in building strong relationships with clients, internal departments, suppliers and key stakeholders 


• Ability to remain calm, flexible and solutions-focused in a fast-paced event environment 


• Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate, or the ability to obtain one
