About the role

Our Product function is evolving, and this role sits right at the heart of it. We're bringing customers closer to the teams who shape our products, clarifying accountabilities across Connected Insights, and simplifying our structure so we can scale our most ambitious initiatives. The new Chapter Lead – Product Management role has been created to provide clear development pathways for our Product Managers and enable coordinated resource planning across the function.

As Chapter Lead – Product Management, your leadership advances Telstra Health's vision of delivering connected and improved digital health experiences. You'll lead a growing community of Product Managers, drive innovation, and ensure our Product Management capability remains competitive, consistent and aligned with Connected Horizon 30 strategy. 

Because great leaders stay close to their craft, around 30% of your time will be hands-on as a Product Manager. Owning a product area yourself to keep your instincts sharp, your team well-supported, and your leadership grounded in the real work of building great products.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the Chapter - Coach, develop and grow a high-performing community of Product Managers, building capability and a culture people want to be part of.
• Set the standard - Establish best practice in product strategy, governance and decision-making, driving consistency and quality across the portfolio.
• Stay close to the craft - Spend approx. 30% of your time hands-on as a Product Manager, owning a product area and keeping your leadership grounded in real customer work.
• Partner across the business - Work with the Technology function and the new Chapter leaders to align capability with demand and enable brilliant product outcomes.
• Own performance and growth - Manage Chapter workforce planning, budget and KPIs, driving continuous improvement and clear career pathways for your team.
   

About you

• A proven people leader. You've led Product Management teams of 20+ in complex organisations, growing capability by leading through others.
• A culture builder. You coach, mentor and lift those around you and are well known for creating inclusive, high-performing teams that deliver.
• A practice shaper. You've established or evolved Product practices and know how to embed consistency at scale.
• A confident influencer. You navigate matrix structures with ease, partnering across business, technology and executive audiences to drive outcomes.
• A hands-on strategist. Comfortable across Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery, you stay close to the craft with Jira, Azure DevOps or similar in your toolkit.
