Are you a talented and passionate chef looking to take your career to the next level? The Hellenic club is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef De Partie to join our Events Kitchen team.
About Us:
The Events Department at the Hellenic Club of Canberra is renowned for offering a diverse range of events and exhibitions to the Canberra community. We specialise in organising various gatherings, both small and large-scale, including weddings, conferences, fight nights, Greek-themed events, and concerts.
Our events kitchen is equipped to cater to any event, with current catering packages that include canapés, multi-course breakfasts, lunches, dinners, buffets, and even high-end seven-course wine dinner degustations.
We strive to prepare everything in-house using the finest produce available. Our culinary team takes pride in crafting a wide range of dishes, guaranteeing that every item is made with the highest care and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Skillfully produce a variety of food dishes to a high standard of preparation, production, and presentation.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
- Work independently without supervision.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to train junior kitchen staff and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Prepare and produce food as directed by the Executive Chef, ensuring consistency in food standards and portion control.
- Control the production of high-quality food using up-to-the-minute methods.
- Provide assistance to the Executive Chef on all relevant catering matters.
- Assist the Executive Chef in preparing budgets and forward plans.
- Participate in purchasing and weekly margin reviews as necessary.
- Ensure effective stock rotation and accurate recording of all deliveries.
- Promote positive working relationships with front-of-house personnel to obtain feedback on quantity/quality.
- Contribute to the development of catering personnel through training, guidance, and feedback.
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety and Food Safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, and operation of all kitchen equipment.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Strong culinary techniques and ingredients knowledge.
- Ability to work well under pressure and excellent time management skills.
- A team player with a dedication to high standards and ambition for new challenges.
- Experience in functions kitchens is an added advantage.
