The Opportunity

Lindfield Gardens Retirement Living is nestled amongst serene bushland in East Lindfield, overlooking the sparkling upper reaches of Middle Harbour. Just 15 minutes from Sydney's CBD, conveniently located close by are Garigal National Park, North Shore Hospital, Roseville Golf Course and Westfield Chatswood. Working closely with the Community Manager and your team of hospitality staff, you'll lead the kitchen to success by providing exquisite catering & hospitality services that exceed the satisfaction of all guests and ensures team members are executing all policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have a positive rapport with restaurant guests, be hands-on, understand food safety principles and ensure sufficient supplies of goods & ingredients. Most importantly, you'll have a passion for food and delivering a gold standard of service to our customers!

Monday to Friday - Permanent Full-time, no weekends!

You will:

  • Be responsible for all kitchen and dining operations - overseeing hospitality services, providing guidance to your team and creating fresh ideas
  • Work closely with your food & beverage team to deliver great service, ensure the restaurant is running smoothly and coordinating ideas for events and functions
  • Monitor daily Food Safety checklists and ensure strict adherence to all OH&S policies
  • Complete stock management of all goods including ordering, rotation and amendments
  • Complete staff rostering, manage development & hiring and ensure your team deliver outstanding service to customers
  • Following up on day-to-day operational issues including adhering to schedules, cleaning lists and performance issues

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in a casual dining kitchen setting (e.g retirement villages, cafes, a la carte settings, RSLs or pubs)
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)
  • Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
  • Kitchen management experience (ordering stock, rostering and admin experience)
  • Current Police Check clearance and minimum two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
