About the role:

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Chef to bring their dynamic culinary skills to this rewarding position.  In this role you will joining our dynamic Food Services team on a permanent part-time basis (25 hours per week), you’ll be playing a key role in the preparation and cooking of nutritious and high-quality meals for our patients at St Vincents Private Hospital Toowoomba.

Your key responsibilities would include:

• Preparation, cooking and presentation of meals at a consistently high standard

• Ensuring compliance with HACCP standards and the hospitals food safety program

• Monitoring food process including handling, safe storage and stock rotation

• Assisting with menu production and daily kitchen operations

• Working closely and collaboratively with the broader Food Services team

Things that work for us: 

• Qualified Chef with relevant trade qualifications (Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery)

• Ability to work on a permanent part-time basis – with flexibility to work either AM or PM shifts (these times ranging from 5.30am – 7.30pm)

• Demonstrated experience in safe food handling for at least 2 years

• Ability to work with minimal supervision with outstanding communication and decision-making skills

• Ability to cater to a wide range variety of sensitive dietary requirements

• Must understand allergy management practices

• Ability to work in a diverse workplace

• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with docket system within room service model

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 197-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our occupational therapy team works with a broader multidisciplinary allied health team across the following areas: general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, rehabilitation, , intensive care, maternity and paediatrics, cardiac and neurology.
