Our client, Waterloo Bay Hotel (Smitham Hotel Pty Ltd), is currently looking for full-time cooks and chefs to join the team for multiple venues in Wynnum, QLD.
Waterloo Bay Hotel defines local Queensland hospitality, offering a clean and comfortable night's sleep to leisure and business guests. Found along Brisbane's shoreline in Wynnum, the hotel offers a range of accommodation styles to suit solo and group travellers.
Work Schedule: 11 am to 9 pm (5 day a week; up to 2-hour breaks)
Responsibilities:
- · Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
- · Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
- · Cook food in a timely manner
- · Inform wait staff about daily specials
- · Ensure appealing plate presentation
- · Monitor food stock and place orders
- · Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
- · Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
- · Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
Requirements and skills
- · Sound food knowledge
- · Solid understanding of health and safety procedures
- · Trade qualifications in cookery
- · Strong communication and organization skills
- · Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
- · Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
- · Leadership skills
- · Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
- · Excellent time management abilities
