About the Job

Sodexo is currently seeking an experienced qualified Chef to work at ERA Ranger Mess on a 14 day on, 7 days off roster - BIBO out of Darwin. This role will rotate each swing to be either breakfast or dinner shift and you will be expected to work 9:00pm to 9:00am  one swing then 9:00am to 9:00pm the next or as required.

Our Chef’s along with the extended service team are the 'backbone' of our remote sites. They contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and provide a service for customers ensuring that each experience is as close to a home away from home feeling.

Your role will include but is not limited to hands-on service for bulk and or buffet style cooking for breakfast, dinner, pastries, crib and on  some occasions will require you to organise functions. A solid knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures and safe work practices is imperative.  

About You:

To be successful in this role you have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent and have previous bulk cooking experience preferably within a mining or remote environment. You will have bags of stamina, be fit and healthy and have a clean and professional presentation. It is essential you can work effectively in teams, have a keen eye for detail. You must have a positive can-do attitude, outstanding customer service and communication skills

As this position require you to work a 2:1 roster, you will be comfortable working and living in remote environments and excited for the fantastic benefits that come with site based living.
