Job Description

  • Casual, with consistent hours
  • Based in Ringwood, on the lands of the Wurundjeri People
  • SACS Level 4 Classification + 11.5% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550

About the program

Every child deserves to feel safe and supported when spending time with their family. Our service provides a calm, welcoming environment where children can maintain or re-establish relationships with their parents after separation.

Our experienced team supports families through supervised visits and facilitated changeovers, helping to make these moments as comfortable and positive as possible. We believe in every family's potential to grow stronger, and we’re here to support them on their journey toward independent family time.

Who you’ll be working with

You’ll be part of a dedicated team passionate about supporting positive family connections. You’ll collaborate with legal and community services while working alongside other professionals who share a deep commitment to child safety and wellbeing.

Your role, your impact

As a Supervised Contact Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring children can safely connect with their families. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting intake assessments to determine suitability for the service
  • Supervising visits and facilitating changeovers
  • Monitoring and intervening as necessary to ensure the emotional, psychological, and physical safety of children
  • Maintaining accurate observational notes and documentation
  • Liaising with legal representatives and preparing court reports as required
  • Communicating with families in a respectful, child-focused, and empathetic manner

Who we’re looking for

You’re someone who thrives in a supportive, purpose-driven environment and is confident navigating complex family situations. You’ll bring:

  • A minimum 3-year degree in Behavioural Sciences (or working towards)
  • Experience in child-focused casework, intake and assessment, and working with families in crisis or under stress
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities
  • A compassionate, professional approach with a commitment to client-centred practice
  • An understanding of the impact of family violence and mental health on children’s wellbeing
  • Knowledge of the psycho-social stages of separation and family dynamics
