Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Scheduler to assist the CHPP team with developing mechanical maintenance schedules.  Reporting into the Work Management Coordinator, the CHPP Maintenance Scheduler will work closely with the planners on site to schedule works for the CHPP.

With extensive interactions across various departments, you will require solid written and verbal communication skills, enjoy solving problems and be an effective team player. This role will ultimately see you maintain a discipline CHPP schedule and integrate with other CHPP departments, with an emphasis on seeking opportunities to optimise the schedule for selected strategies and work packages, while making the most efficient use of resources to achieve this.

Performance & Delivery overview:

• Ensure an integrated schedule delivers the strategy work at the right time and makes the most efficient use of resources to achieve this.
• Coordinate with all CHPP departments to ensure scheduling is aligned to strategy and OMS.
• Establish initial Schedule window for all approved work from department planners.
• Build an effective schedule; defining a task start time that fits the completion window (i.e. between the earliest time resources can be available and the latest date that the work can be started and meet the required completion date).
• Confirming and allocating Equipment/Workplace access time, and labour and equipment availability.
• Determine optimal work sequence within timing windows set by department planners.
• Support the Work Management process by scheduling all approved work before the required date.
• Identify and manage synergies and conflicts between activities, within specifications from department planners.
• Outline risks / opportunities in schedule.
• Review draft Schedules with the accountable Operational Superintendents.
• Effective Management Routines and Engagement.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum 3 years experience in scheduling or planning processes
• SAP experience
• SAP Prometheus Advanced Scheduler experience (desirable not essential)
• The ability to manage expectations with stakeholders.
