The opportunity:

Your new role:

This role is pivotal to the success of the SA/WA Liability Claims team , offering the opportunity to manage a high-volume, diverse portfolio of Public Liability and Personal Injury claims from lodgment through to resolution. You'll play a key role in delivering fair, timely and commercially sound outcomes, while proactively supporting QBE's claim's philosophy and strategy and operating confidently within legislative and regulatory frameworks.

You'll be trusted to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, exercise sound judgement, and work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve strong customer and business outcomes.

Please note: this role may require occasional travel.
  • Interpret policy coverage and determine liability, escalating complex or sensitive matters where appropriate
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with insureds, brokers, investigators, solicitors, and other external partners
  • Ensure all claims are managed in line with relevant legislation, statutory requirements, and internal governance frameworks
  • Identify, initiate, and complete recovery opportunities from third parties where applicable
  • Conduct regular self-audits of claims files to support quality outcomes and positive internal audit results
  • Respond to enquiries in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner, in line with privacy requirements
About you
  • Proven experience managing high-volume Legal/Public Liability and/or Personal Injury claims in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet competing deadlines
  • Strong technical capability across bodily injury, property damage, and product liability claims, including policy interpretation, underwriting intent and liability decision-making
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with legal panels and external providers
  • Sound understanding and practical application of the General Insurance Code of Practice
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build effective relationships with customers, brokers, and stakeholders
