Cleaning Assistant

Our Facilities & Business Support Team are looking for a Cleaning Assistant at our Hills campus. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the campus facilities are presented in a well-maintained manner for everyday use. This involves the outworking of practical cleaning and maintenance tasks, as well as the building and leading teams of volunteers to achieve these outcomes.

Other aspects of this role include:

Cleanliness of Facilities

• Ensure campus facilities are fully cleaned on a regular basis as per cleaning checklists. This includes, but is not limited to, tasks such as bins replenishment; vacuuming; bathroom, kitchen and surface cleaning; floor and glass cleaning; packing up and packing down of equipment; and supplies replenishment.

Weekend Services

• Ensure campus facilities are prepared and presented in excellent condition for all weekend services and key church events.


• Ensure buildings are transitioned back to their weekday setup after weekend services and after any key events.

General Facilities Tasks

• General Facilities Tasks Assist in a variety of tasks that relate to and assist in the general operation of campus facilities as directed by your oversight.


• Maintain excellent levels of cleanliness for the venue at all times.

Adherence to WH&S Guidelines

• Adherence to WH&S Guidelines Ensure all WH&S regulations and requirements are being followed and adhered to for all maintenance and cleaning tasks being performed. Ensure safe manual handling techniques are employed and ensure safe use of chemical procedures are adhered to at all times.

Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:

• Demonstrated understanding of Australian Safework and WH&S standards preferred.


• Previous experience in a similar capacity is preferred.


• General aptitude for cleaning and maintenance tasks essential.
