About the role This position provides services to women in SLHD communities who are pregnant or caring for an infant up to 2 years of age and who are using substances at a level that meets the threshold for a specialist Drug and Alcohol service. The Clinician will cover the spectrum of screening, assessment, treatment, and case management for substance use with priority for services based on severity of substance use and/or complex management of family and other social issues that impact on the care of the infant. The service is based in the community and includes visiting women and their families at home, in community settings, health centres and hospitals. It will work closely with other providers including Maternity Services, Child and Family services, and the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service to provide specialist Drug and Alcohol Treatment services to women who are pregnant or caring for an infant up to 2 years of age. The Clinician will also collaborate with other key service providers, both Government and Non-Government, and will be expected to supervise, educate and mentor to build local capacity across these organisations. We are looking for someone who has … Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. Approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
