  • Full time, ongoing opportunity

  • Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

As a Cloud Engineer, you will work in partnership with our Managed Service Provider to design, deploy, and operate secure, reliable, and highly available cloud infrastructure. You’ll play a key role as a subject matter expert across cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code, and supporting toolsets, helping to enable effective and efficient technology operations.

Collaborating closely with internal technology teams and external vendors, you will contribute to the delivery of stable, scalable solutions that underpin business-critical services. This role provides broad exposure to AWS cloud technologies and offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement while supporting the evolution of our platform capabilities and future initiatives. The role will suit applicants who will enjoy delivering to both BAU requirements and impactful project work.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures. Utilises infrastructure management tools to monitor performance statistics. Contributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation activities, including the build and configuration of infrastructure components in virtualised environments.

  • Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines, and configures automation tools to support provisioning, testing and deployment. Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution in line with agreed standards and procedures.

  • Provides reports and recommendations for improvement and engages with stakeholders.

  • Monitors digital and automated service channels, analysing performance data. Supports the development and application of service standards to resolve or escalate issues, and provides technical briefings to staff.

  • Develops and implements plans for complex changes, assessing risks to services integrity. Delivers approved changes, reviews outcomes, and recommends improvements to change management practices.

  • Monitors service component capacity and initiates actions to resolve any shortfalls in line with agreed procedures. Applies demand management techniques to optimise resource utilisation and supports capacity modelling, planning and design.
