We are searching for an expert Commercial Finance Manager to join our growing team at Finlaysons in Sumner, Brisbane QLD.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join our Finlayson’s Timber and Hardware Business. The role will support our business with strategic insights to drive sound business decisions for now and into the future. The role also executes the day to day running of the finance and compliance function across the Finlayson’s Retail business and Frame & Truss Plant. 

With your strong commercial acumen, you will own the reporting function providing commercial and financial oversight across the (group) business.

What you'll do

  • Manage the financial performance of the business including preparation of monthly management reporting, financial plans (budget/ forecasts), P&L statement/s etc. 
  •  Provide sound financial support and insights to enable the Executive Leadership Team to support critical business decisions 
  • Preparation and presentation of financial results and insights to the Board and IHG Commercial Team
  • Partner with business managers to drive financial performance
  •  Establish and develop relationships with the Finlayson's Group team, IHG senior management, and external partners (Insurance Broker, Auditor, Bank, IT service providers)
  • Business Plan development in conjunction with the Executive Leadership Team
  • Cashflow management and reporting (in conjunction with IHG)
  • Capex Management (including Monthly Capex Report)
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Manage the Finance/Administration/IT Team (6) plus recruitment, training and development of team
  •  Partner with IHG Commercial team to support annual External Audit and financial statements and ensure the organisation is compliant with accounting standards
  • Liaise with the IHG Financial Accountant and the Metcash Tax Team to support taxation requirements (BAS, tax return and FBT return etc.)
  • Provide guidance and strategy on group IT requirements, service agreements, and risk mitigation
  • Risk Management to ensure the business has a solid risk framework in place
  • Investment appraisal and analysis (including the management of the Financial /Commercial transition integration of new business acquisitions
