Key objective:

Contribute to building a profitable business through generating commercial leads and developing business across Australia. 

Accountabilities:

The below list of accountabilities is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned to the post holder, which is to be undertaken as requested or required.

  • To develop new business opportunities and see that these opportunities are pursued to their maximum potential
  • Developing viable solar and battery storage proposals
  • Developing strong working relationships with the project manager and clients 
  • To develop strong external relationships with the key stakeholders throughout the market. 
  • Manage the legal and technical due diligence with legal and technical teams
  • Negotiating the contracts: Non-Disclosure Agreements, Exclusivity Agreements, Lease, PPA, EPC and EPCM
  • Generating and understanding Company strategies and developing best business practices accordingly
  • Prepare financial models to assess the returns of the project
  • Reporting clearly and concisely to senior management
  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with the strategic partners 
  • Work with sales team to turn prospective leads into long-term clients 
  • Establish relationships with local governments and other industry stakeholders (utilities, Dept of Energy, industry associations) 
  • Identify timely new opportunities through tenders and RFQs, and work on submissions. 
  • Take on ad-hoc projects as instructed by the Headquarters
  • Travel frequently to visit clients and attend conferences, and networking events on behalf of the company 
  • Attend daily/Weekly meetings (Team/Management) as required.
  • Assist Head of sales and Business Development as required. 
  • Support delivery team and project management on a day-to-day basis.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High exposure to the Commercial Solar marketplace.
  • Minimum 3 years of B2B experience.
  • Proven commercial solar track record (10-100kW) across various industry sectors.
  • Large-scale solar experience (>100kW) is highly desirable, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Ability to project manage and assist in project delivery if required.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated and driven to achieve personal and overall business goals.
  • High computer literacy, with exceptional reporting and organisation skills.
  • Ability to liaise at all levels, internally and externally, and be an exceptional team player, with leadership capabilities.
