Position Type: 6-month casual temporary contract
Pay Rate: Competitive
Location: Perth, WA 6000
Role Overview: As the Communications Manager, you'll lead the development and execution of proactive communication strategies to support TPAE goals. You'll craft diverse communications for newsletters, presentations, and digital platforms, manage corporate events and online webinars, and support policy rollout through targeted activities. Additionally, you'll conduct research to inform policy development and foster key stakeholder relationships within the Transport Portfolio.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate proactive communication strategies, plans and projects which support TPAE goals and objectives.
  • Initiate, plan, research and write communications for a range of audiences and purposes including newsletters, fact sheets, ministerial responses, presentations, promotional materials, reports, social media, and digital content.
  • Event planning and management for corporate events that celebrate cultural diversity; as well as preparation for corporate expos/ displays and coordination of online webinars.
  • Deliver communications activities to support the rollout of new policies, protocols and processes developed by TPAE, for the Transport Portfolio and major contractors.
  • Research, analyse and collate information that will assist with the development of corporate policies and processes for the Transport Portfolio.
  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships with Transport Portfolio staff including communications, strategy, procurement, and project teams.
 
 
Essential to be successful in this role;
  • working with Aboriginal stakeholders in a similar role
  • delivering comprehensive communications and engagement activities, preferably in a large and complex organisation
  • high level interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work closely with senior management, ministerial offices, and build and maintain strong links with internal and external stakeholders
  • Valid NPC or able to obtain one
  • Valid WA Drivers License
  • knowledge of policies and practices on Work Health and Safety, and on EEO, diversity and equity
  • excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet concurrent deadlines
