Community & Stakeholder Engagement Specialist (Temporary Opportunity up to 12 months)

In this role, you'll:

Working as part of a team delivering strategic, insight‑led community and stakeholder engagement that gives communities, customers and stakeholders a genuine voice in Transport for NSW’s work across NSW.

 This role will see you design, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based engagement and communications strategies, integrate engagement, communications and proactive storytelling, advise leaders and project teams, and build trust by connecting Transport’s vision to local priorities, projects and places while supporting Aboriginal outcomes.

You will lead new ways of enabling meaningful participation, influencing decisions and building strong, trusted relationships in a high‑profile, politically sensitive environment with diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.

 
This is a 12-month temporary full-time role based in Wollongong. The role will support major regional projects in south region, as well as BAU activities across maintenance and safety programs.

About you

Your strategic engagement, communications and stakeholder‑management skills formed across complex, high‑profile programs within government, infrastructure or related environments will see you excel in managing diverse stakeholder expectations, translating complex technical and policy information into clear, accessible narratives and navigating issues and risks, bringing evidence‑based engagement strategies and proactive storytelling to lead to informed decisions, trusted relationships and strong community outcomes.

 
You’re recognized as a credible and influential engagement professional, skilled at designing and facilitating engagement activities and compelling narratives, and experienced in building partnerships across government, industry, community and Aboriginal stakeholders.
