We have a fulfilling opportunity for an experienced psychologist to join Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre. Within the role you will provide high level, specialist mental health assessment and intervention and be responsible for a providing supervision and leadership to a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

A Sentence Planning Adviser will contribute to the day-to-day operations of Sentence Management Services performing sentence management functions either in a correctional centre or within a HUB environment at designated locations. This role will have the primary responsibility of undertaking timely and accurate assessment of prisoners entering the correctional system and checking for their lawful detention and supervision. The role of Principal Advisor Offending Programs promotes community safety by providing state-wide coordination, capability development and quality assurance functions for high intensity offending behaviour programs, including sexual offending programs.

The Partnerships and Strategic Engagement Group assists QCS to maintain a framework of partnerships that enable it to achieve its strategic and operational objectives. The group builds QCS’ capability to effectively partner and engage with other government agencies, non-government organisations and academic institutions to respond to complex system challenges and opportunities, including by negotiating formal collaborative agreements and arrangements. The group works closely with internal stakeholders across operational and organisational capability functions to support a coordinated QCS response to existing and emerging complex system challenges and opportunities.

The High-Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville region is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole. It comprises of the following work groups: HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;
HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from Wacol
HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville and;
The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.

Management of the work unit’s human resource functions is also required, and this will include; managing staff performance, training and development, as well as analyse trends and workloads to ensure adequate resource allocation within their teams.

The Administrative Officer will deliver efficient and effective administrative and clerical support for the centre and supports the centre’s day to day operations. This position is required to work as part of an overall administration support team for the correctional centre.
