Your Role as Community Development Officer

The Community Development Officer embeds headspace services within the local community by building partnerships, delivering events and programs, and promoting early help-seeking for young people. • Develop materials (e.g. Welcome Packs) for orientation to headspace WMQ for young people and their support networks and improve centre accessibility.

  • Pursue opportunities to form strategic partnerships with other local community organisations to provide holistic wraparound care to young people accessing the services.

  • Lead the planning, development, and delivery of consistent, evidence-based community education regarding youth mental wellbeing using innovative and creative approaches.

  • Develop and deliver events tailored for target groups to deliver key messages (e.g. mental health literacy, reduced stigma, anti-discrimination, early help seeking).
