Redlands Community Educator 

The Redlands Community Educator will play an important role in working with collaboratively with community stakeholders to provide psychoeducation and referral to women across Redlands and on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands (SMBI). The role is to achieve the organisational vision/mission and to promote women’s wellbeing.    

The Community Educator may provide a range of individual supports and group processes across issues and topics relevant to women’s wellbeing with a focus on activities that increase their independence and empowerment following experiences of trauma (including domestic and family violence, mental health challenges and other complex experiences through the lifespan), for women living and/or working on the Islands.   

The Community Educator may also provide prevention and early intervention services, targeting young women and women with higher risk factors for issues that may impact on their wellbeing, such as isolation and post-natal care.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivery high quality community education support and psychoeducation to women within the Redlands community responding to the contemporary needs as identified by The Centre for Women & Co.   
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create the most appropriate therapeutic responses to the presenting needs of Centre for Women & Co. clients.   
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of group programs on a regular basis.  

Salary and Benefits 

  • SCHADS Level 4.1($41.52p/h) | Part-Time (4 Days/30 Hours per Week) | $64771.2 annually 
  • Permanent with recurrent funding

  • Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

Experience and Qualifications 

This role requires qualifications in counselling, social work, psychology, or human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university. This role would also benefit from demonstrated experience in community education and/or engagement.
