You’ll help us with:

  • Optimise trust by facilitating two-way conversations with our diverse community
  • Connect people, ideas, and information to deliver locally-led impact
  • Make sense of what matters most to locals so we can listen and respond with a local focus

If you’re passionate about community engagement, data insights, and helping embed evidence-informed decision-making at the local level, we want to hear from you.

Why This Role Is Important

As the City’s Community Insights Officer, you’ll be central to the City’s continued journey to listen and respond with a local focus. Your efforts will help us “do better” community engagement, making sure every voice is heard and every insight counts. If you enjoy connecting dots, making data meaningful, and seeing your work shape real outcomes, this opportunity is meant for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the design and delivery of the City’s community insights function, ensuring best-practice data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Embed evidence-informed decision-making into projects and strategies, championing Living Locally and Locally-led Stirling.
  • Design, collect, evaluate, and report on data and benchmarks relating to the impact of activities on local areas, maintaining suburb profiles and local focus plans through two-way conversations, data storytelling, and a single-entry point for community voices.
  • Build and nurture relationships with community groups, local businesses, and internal stakeholders to achieve community insights outcomes.
  • Identify and deliver visible, place-based wins using real community insights, turning local voices and data-driven insights into better decisions.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management skills, with the ability to work confidently across diverse communities.
  • Self-motivated, solutions-focused, and collaborative, with a knack for embedding evidence-informed insights into real-world decisions.
