About the role


 


Community Nurse Unit Manager
Temporary Part Time - 16 hours per fortnight until 24/12/2026


 


Colac Area Health is a values-based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.


 


The Community Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the delivery of home and community based services such as Home Nursing, Post Acute Care, Community Palliative Care, HARP, Continence, Diabetes Education and Sexual Reproductive Health, Hospital in the Home and sub-acute services. The Manager will lead and manage Community Nursing staff and program delivery within defined resources, according to funding guidelines, as well as professional practice standards. The Manager will identify opportunities for service delivery improvements, support implementation of identified changes, and support effective and efficient interfaces between all programs and across Colac Area Health.  


 


What’s required? 



  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse 

  • Highly experienced nurse able to demonstrate clinical expertise and staff/project management

  • Demonstrated ability to build positive culture, experience in managing staff, and project development and implementation experience

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and build capacity necessary to achieve service and organisational goals 

  • Proven ability to deploy financial, physical and human resources to meet targets

  • A consultative leadership style that promotes participation and involvement, and effective and appropriate delegation in decision making

  • Leading and promoting continuous service quality improvement activities and motivating staff to deliver contemporary and best practice services 

  • Ability to manage continuous change in a challenging and complex environment 

  • Ability to build rapport, negotiate and maintain effective relations with key stakeholders across CAH and external organisations and sectors 

  • Sound computer literacy and highly developed written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience managing complex funding and revenue streams and funded activity obligations

  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence, Working with Children and Police Check Criteria from PD in dot point
