Home Visits with Elderly Clients on the Central Coast 

The HammondCare Volunteer Program is a beautiful way to spread joy and make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person right here on the Central Coast.

Whether you love sport, art, pets, gardening, walking, yoga, baking, craft, movies, music, coffee, or crosswords — there’s someone who would love to share that interest with you. Whatever brings you joy can become a moment of connection for someone else.

As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you’ll be matched with one elderly person living in their own home. You’ll visit the same client each time, helping build a warm, trusting relationship that grows over time. Visits are weekly or fortnightly, usually for about an hour, creating a gentle, meaningful rhythm of companionship and conversation.

If you’d love to brighten someone’s day — and enjoy a friendly cuppa and a chat along the way — we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with.

HammondCare

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

18 years or older •  National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

The commitment is one hour per week or fortnight for a minimum of 6 months. We would be delighted to talk with you about a suitable day and time during the week (Monday to Sunday).
