Company Accountant

$120k - $140k + Super | Airport location | Hands-On Leadership Role Your new company
A well-established organisation operating in a specialist, operationally driven sector is seeking a Company Accountant to join their Brisbane-based team. This is a highly hands-on role, suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across both technical accounting and transactional finance. This position reports directly to the CFO and offers strong ownership across the full finance function.

Your new role
This is not a purely strategic position - the successful candidate will be required to roll up their sleeves and work across all aspects of finance, while providing leadership and oversight.
Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Preparing financial reports, commentary and annual financial statements
• Managing cashflow, budgeting and forecasting
• Overseeing and supporting AP, AR, bank reconciliations and payroll processes
• Preparing and reviewing BAS, tax and statutory reporting obligations
• Ensuring accuracy of billing, contracts and invoicing
• Managing and mentoring a small finance team
• Driving improvements in financial processes, controls and systems
• Coordinating year-end audit and working closely with external auditors

What you'll need to succeed

• CA/CPA member (or qualified by experience) with a strong technical accounting background
• Proven experience in a hands-on Financial Accountant or Senior Accountant role
• Comfortable working across both operational and leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of the business
• Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel capability
