We are looking for a motivated and detail oriented professional to join our Debt Market Services team on a contract basis. within Perpetual Corporate Trust (PCT) a specialist business within the Perpetual Group. This is a unique opportunity to build your career in a highly specialised area, working alongside experienced professionals in securitisation and debt markets. This role is well suited to someone early in their career who is bright, curious and eager to learn and for the right individual, there opportunity to grow into a longer-term compliance focused position within the team.
About the Role
In this position, you will support the team with reviewing and managing documentation and our internal registers, ensuring accuracy and compliance within a complex regulatory and contractual environment. The project relates to a specialised regulatory framework known as the Personal Property Securities Act (PPSA) and the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR).
These registrations are critical in debt markets and securitisation, as they help determine priority rights, protect investors and ensure transactions remain compliant with regulatory requirements. In this role, you will support the review and management of PPSA registrations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and alignment with transaction documentation and regulatory expectations, while identifying opportunities to improve processes across the register.
Key Responsibilities
Review PPSA review plan which involves data reconciliation and documentation review.
Data Reconciliation
Review records and internal systems to identify status of all PPSA registrations
Cleanse and standardise PPS records in line with agreed data governance standards
Validate PPS records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across source documents
Identify, investigate, and reconcile data against source systems or supporting documentation to ensure integrity
Shortlist and record PPSA registrations which may be able to be released
Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) Review
Review transaction documentation to identify instructions required to release PPSA registrations
Prepare, coordinate and track communications
Liaise with internal / external teams including legal counsel
Assisting with updating procedures and system enhancements
About you
We are open to candidates who are early in their career but demonstrate strong capability and a genuine interest in this space. Ideally, you will have:
Degree in Law, Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics
A strong academic background and a proactive, switched on approach to learning
Exposure to audit, ideally within a Big Four or similar professional services environment will be highly regarded
Familiarity with PPSR and PPSA concepts. Direct experience is not essential, but an understanding of its purpose and application is highly regarded
Interest or foundational knowledge in financial and/or debt capital markets
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review and interpret documentation carefully and accurately
A willingness to take ownership, ask questions and develop expertise in a specialised area.
