Construction Manager

TGRC partnered with a leading investments manager dedicated to advancing Australia's energy transition. Their focus is on developing, financing, constructing, and operating renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). They are committed to sustainable energy solutions and are at the forefront of driving innovation in the industry.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Construction Project Manager to join their team in either Melbourne or Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading the construction of renewable energy projects, particularly in utility-scale BESS, solar, or wind. This role requires an individual with extensive experience in the Australian energy market, capable of overseeing projects from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including BESS, solar, and wind.

• Oversee all construction phases, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Develop detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

• Monitor construction progress and address any issues or delays promptly.

• Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Promote a strong safety culture on-site, conducting regular safety audits and training.

• Liaise with key stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, local communities, and landowners.

• Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders to address concerns and keep them informed of project progress.

• Implement rigorous quality control procedures to ensure construction meets design specifications and industry standards.

• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high-quality project delivery.

• Manage project budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial control and cost-effectiveness.

• Prepare regular financial and progress reports for senior management and investors.

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement contingency plans as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Australian energy market, specifically in the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects (BESS, solar, or wind).

• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale construction projects.

• Strong understanding of Australian construction regulations, standards, and market dynamics.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
