Job Description - Construction Trainer and Assessor

*** Multiple positions available ***

Conduct training and assessment for various nationally accredited construction courses in a flexible and supportive work environment across our 3 locations - Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

  • Flexibility of employment options - full time, part time, casual, contract positions available. Also offering cadet trainer role for the right applicant who has substantial construction experience.
  • Minimum qualifications required: TAE 40116, plus at least one of the courses that we deliver.
  • Ongoing training and upskilling offered to support your development.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Trainer and Assessor role is critical to deliver high quality training and assessment, and monitor and support students to achieve desired learning outcomes. This role will be responsible for delivering a variety of nationally accredited courses. 

Courses currently being delivered include Heights, Confined Space, Gas Test, EWP, Boom over 11m, EWPA Yellow Card, Forklift, Order Picking Forklift, Telehandler, Power Tools, Load and Unload Plant, Construction Induction, Manual Handling, Basic Scaffold.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver training and assessment services (theory and practical)
  • Provide flexible, interesting, inclusive and relevant training sessions and assist all learners regardless of their level of experience
  • Undertake required planning and preparation for classroom and practical training prior to course commencing 
  • Ensure all Training and Assessment documents and tools are correctly completed and submitted in accordance with VET requirements 
  • Maintain ongoing work and professional experience in content areas, and continue to develop competence and currency of skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of courseware, materials and strategies, which may include researching, writing/editing, and validating assessment tools and training resources
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach to carrying out all activities

ABOUT YOU:

You will be a person who goes above and beyond to ensure you leave a lasting positive impression. You will have:

  • a minimum of one of the qualifications currently being delivered (Heights, Confined Space, Gas Test, EWP, Boom over 11m, EWPA Yellow Card, Forklift, Order Picking Forklift, Telehandler, Power Tools, Load and Unload Plant, Construction Induction, Manual Handling, Basic Scaffold.)
  • recent relevant industry experience in the building and construction and be able to provide currency
  • a Cert IV TAE 40116
  • excellent facilitation skills to provide flexible, interesting, inclusive and relevant training sessions and assist all learners regardless of their level of experience
  • sound computer skills

Training and assessing experience under the National Assessment Instrument for WP, LF, LO or SB is advantageous.

  • willing to travel to training locations in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and to customer on-site locations around Queensland as required
